The Brief

This client is one of the leading commercial property firms in the UK. Following an acquisition, they were looking to hire someone for a newly created Director role managing Business Development, Marketing & Communications.

The client was keen for someone to bring in a fresh perspective to marketing and be instrumental in leading the firm to take more of a consultancy approach.

Ambition's Solution

Based on the brief and meeting the client, we recommended an exclusive search targeting individuals who had previous experience working in larger complex professional services firms who’d managed significant change.

We also identified individuals who had excellent leadership qualities and team management as the role was managing a large function across multiple locations.

We targeted individuals who took more of an integrated approached to Marketing, BD & Communications as a large part of the role was to bring together these functions to deliver on higher quality and more targeted campaigns for the business.


The Outcome

Ambition presented a long list of 5 individuals of whom all were interviewed.

3 were taken to second interview, and 2 to final interview where 1 candidate was eventually offered.

The individual accepted the offer despite receiving a counter-offer from their existing business and joined our client after completing their notice period. The newly-appointed Director was an immediate success, delivering on some key objectives in the first year including a firm-wide re-brand and team restructure.
