Restructuring Advisory Director

Ambition has partnered with one of the biggest accountancy practices globally to help identify a senior Restructuring and Advisory professional for a Director post in their Gatwick office.

The main purpose of the role is to profitably manage a substantial portfolio of clients to ensure the continued growth and future success of the department and firm. Last financial year, the team were considerably over annual target and they have made a good start to the current financial year with high levels of new engagements.

On average, 60-65% of your time will be chargeable whereby you will get heavily involved in early stage insolvency work, business reviews, cashflow reviews and turnaround appointments that range from £5m to £90m in turnover. The team service a range of different sectors although they have been winning a lot of work within the not-for-profit sector.

In addition, you will provide senior leadership to the team undertaking business restructuring work and to take charge of planning, monitoring and reviewing all work prepared by more junior team members in the group.

Aside from work delivery, project strategy and team management, you will be heavily involved in marketing and networking in the local area with lawyers, corporates and the ABLs.

One of the key requirements set out by the business with this particular hire is to bring in a Director that will make Partner. Demonstrating a commercial aptitude for new business will therefore be very important.

The Gatwick team has very close ties with their London counterparts and so the person coming in will need to buy into the ethos of national collaboration and cross-selling around the business.

Technical skills for this Director position will require those with extensive restructuring and business advisory skills and being a qualified accountant is certain preferential. JIEB and CPI will be viewed as favourable but not essential.

Having a local network in Surrey/West Sussex will certainly help with making Partner quickly but significant support and marketing spend will be given as it is in the existing Partnership's interest to hire a Director that can continue to drive this team forward.

If you are a Restructuring Associate Director/Director seeking a genuine route to Partner then this is a role you should be looking at.
