Payroll Team Leader

We have partnered with a top accounting practice in order to assist them in finding an experienced payroll professional to join their growing team within their outsourcing function, based in St Albans. As a Payroll Team Leader you will work alongside the Payroll Manager to help supervise the team.

Being a Payroll Team Leader you will be responsible for processing fortnightly, monthly and quarterly client payroll for various clients as well as compiling regular checks of statutory information held on IRIS. You will support the Payroll Manager in checking payrolls prepared by more junior members of the team. Furthermore, as a Payroll Team Leader you will liaise with clients with ad hoc queries as well as dealing with ongoing compliance such as P45s and starter checklists.

In order to be suitable for this position you will:

  • Have a minimum 3 years experience in a similar payroll position
  • Be experienced in using payroll software, preferably IRIS experience
  • Understand the calculation of NI and different tax codes as well as how statutory payments are made through payroll
