Billing Clerk

A top US law firm is looking for a Billing Clerk to provide support to the Billing Manager and Billing Assistants for all aspects of drafting and finalizing client bills. This position requires strong customer service and interpersonal skills/judgment in communications with attorneys, staff, vendors, and clients of the Firm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist billing assistants with generating pro formas
  • Assist with time transfers  Edit time entry narrative (addition and corrections)
  • Prepare write off memos and cash application charts
  • Obtain back-up images for disbursements to include with final invoices based on client billing requirements
  • Scanning and filing of invoices and posting packages
  • Generate billing variance reports and write-off reports
  • Obtain appropriate write-off approvals based on firm established policies/thresholds

Key requirements:

  • Ideally educated to A Level and/or GCSE standard, and must have A-C/9-4 grades in English and Maths
  • Billing, Accounts Receivable, or related experience in an accounting department desirable
  • A self-starter who adapts/responds to changes in priorities, and displays a sense of ownership
  • Proofreads accurately
  • Deadline-focused; organized; problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated written/oral communication skills (e.g., responding to client or vendor inquiries)
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel
