ACCOUNTING MANAGER

A top accounting firm is currently recruiting for an Accounting manager for their outsourcing team, servicing large corporates through to SME's.

To manage resources within the Business Services team to oversee the provision of timely and effective delivery of general accounting and taxation services to an established portfolio of clients leading on service delivery and client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and monitor work and resources within agreed budgets to meet deadlines and any targets that may be set
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of clients
  • Manage the team to ensure client and Partner expectations are met on delivery and accuracy of work
  • Lead on developing excellent client service and relationships with clients and Partners
  • Manage the allocation of work to team members in conjunction with other Managers
  • Review accounts for quality and compliance ensuring completion of file and recording notes and review points
  • Make recommendations to the Partner as part of the file review and continuous improvement
  • Take responsibility to coach and develop team members giving constructive feedback to enhance their skills and development
  • Liaise with other departments in order to efficiently and effectively complete jobs
  • Participate in non standard projects and initiatives
  • Manage the work in progress and billing process on the client portfolio and update the relationship Partner
  • Provide technical advice to the team and client as required in line with the firm's standards
  • Interpret and apply accounting standards
  • Promote and advocate the firm's methodology
  • Ensure application of professional ethics and standards
  • Contribute to team and firm wide initiatives
  • Recruit, train and develop members of the team to ensure there are sufficient resources and skills in the team to meet current demand and planned growth
  • Work in collaboration with the team to direct team members, share knowledge and ideas to improve communication, set team goals and recognise achievements
  • Coach and mentor members of the team and organise appropriate induction for new team members to become effective quickly
  • Carry out Performance Development Review (PDR) process for team members to set appropriate objectives, review progress and develop skills
  • Develop own profile and build knowledge and technical expertise to enhance professional development
  • Build knowledge and awareness of all aspects of the firm's service to help identify opportunities to up sell and cross sell services to clients and communicate this to the team
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives to increase client portfolio and new business

You will:

  • ICAEW/ICAS/ICAI/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant
  • Good technical and compliance skills
