Working Capital Manager

I am currently working with one of our leading Law Firm clients on the search for a Working Capital Manager to lead its Billing & Collections team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to drive operational excellence, mentor a high-performing team, and deliver outstanding financial support across the business.

As a Working Capital Manager, you'll oversee a team responsible for transactional billing and collections, ensuring efficient processes and maximising cash flow. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to reduce lockup, improve working capital, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team delivering proactive billing and collections support
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify billing opportunities and accelerate collections
• Collaborate with peers to manage staffing, performance, and recruitment consistently
• Monitor team and individual performance to ensure exceptional service delivery
• Mentor and coach team members to become subject matter experts and future leaders
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and client SLAs
• Provide regular WIP and debt reporting to senior stakeholders
• Act as a key contact for working capital matters across the business
• Uphold confidentiality, security, and quality standards in all client and practice documentation

Key Requirements:

• Proven leadership experience in billing, collections, or working capital management
• Strong understanding of financial compliance frameworks (e.g. SAR, VAT/GST)
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to mentoring and team development
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional services environment
