Senior Partner Matters Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Partner Matters Manager to lead a critical function within their Tax & Partner Matters department. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of partner-related financial operations in a prestigious, fast-paced professional services environment.


The Tax & Partner Matters team supports the firm's senior leadership with all financial and tax matters related to partners. This includes compensation, capital, tax compliance, and strategic planning. The Partner Matters sub-team specifically manages partner payments, capital contributions, onboarding/offboarding processes, and ad hoc queries.


As Senior Partner Matters Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end management of partner financial processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. You'll lead a small team, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across systems and workflows. This is a high-visibility role with regular interaction with firm leadership, partners, external advisers, and the wider finance function.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee and review monthly drawings, quarterly distributions, bonuses, pensions, annuities, and other partner-related payments
  • Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions in the general ledger (3E)
  • Manage the partner capital process, including calculations, bank liaison, and documentation
  • Lead and support two direct reports
  • Collaborate with the Tax sub-team on shared processes such as tax reserving
  • Prepare financial forecasts and year-end reporting packs for the department
  • Review and respond to partner earnings confirmations and other financial queries
  • Support partner lifecycle events including lateral hires and retirements, liaising with the Director of Partnership Affairs
  • Represent the Partner Matters team in meetings with senior leadership and external advisers
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the department
  • Lead ad hoc projects and initiatives as required

Person Specification:

  • Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA preferred)
  • Proven experience in a partnership accounts
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing direct reports
  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems (3E or similar)
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and external advisers
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
