Senior Business Development and Marketing Manager - Transactions Practice

I'm excited to be working with a leading global law firm who are hiring for a Senior BD Manager to steer and manage their leading transaction practice.

About the Role: In the role of Senior Business Development and Marketing Manager, you will be the strategic driver behind the practice's expansion. Collaborating closely with partners, you'll devise and implement business strategies that resonate with the firms broader goals. Your pivotal role will enhance the firms comprehension of their clients' commercial requirements and increase the firms propositions to bolster cross-selling opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Work with partners and wider BD team to create and implement marketing and BD plans for the group and individual lawyers.

  • Marketing Coordination: Maintain a balanced mix of marketing and business development activities aligned with the firms goals.
  • Leadership Participation: Actively engage in group meetings and strategy sessions.
  • Project Management: Lead RFPs, pitches, and other development projects.
  • Process Improvement: Manage and enhance business development tools and processes, ensuring efficiency and effective use of technology.
  • Market Strategy: Use market insights to refine the firms services and stand out in the market.
  • Business Opportunities: Oversee the planning and execution of new business and cross-marketing initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Guide the budget for business development and marketing, ensuring a good return on investment.
  • Brand Building: Drive activities that raise the practice's profile, including submissions for rankings and managing sponsorships.
  • Team Development: Hire and develop staff, manage operations, set goals, and provide feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with professionals across the firm on interdisciplinary projects.

What's needed:

  • Background in marketing or business development within a law firm or professional services.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems like InterAction, Salesforce, or Foundation.
  • Insight into company/market research tools and law firm accolades.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and sound judgement.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to oversee multiple projects with competing timelines.
