I am currently working with a US Law Firm on a International Tax Manager vacancy based in their London office and be responsible for overseeing Tax matters for multiple offices, based in London and abroad. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Tax Manager, preferably with a Big 4 background, to work for a well established and highly respected Law firm and help develop the Tax team.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Prepare, review and maintain documentation for the Firm's tax filings, including the reporting of U.K. and international operations and partnerships
  • Perform research of relevant tax laws, regulations and rulings; maintain tax compliance calendar and various control schedules to ensure all tax filings are prepared and filed in a timely manner
  • Maintain necessary schedules to support the distribution and Partner receivable accounts in the general ledger
  • Review record keeping for the Firm's investments in the London and abroad
  • Prepare tax provisions and tax account reconciliations
  • Research and report on trends and developments concerning complex domestic and international tax issues
  • Provide development and guidance to Tax Staff Accountant reviewing procedures and suggesting improvements escalating issues to Tax Director as required
  • Attend and participate in managerial meetings and proactively communicate reporting updates, new technologies and trends to management
  • Liaise with the wider finance team in the London office


Requirements for this role include:

  • 6-10 years of public accounting experience in a large professional services organisation required
  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of UK tax laws, accounting and tax regulations, related applications and concepts with an emphasis on Partnerships
  • Familiarity with international tax aspects of a professional services organisation
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Proficiency in computerised tax research
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Can organise, prioritise, plan and multi-task work activities, with the ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to lead, direct, train and manage professional staff
  • Ability to exercise a high level of independent judgement within established systems and procedures
