Financial Accountant

Ambition are supporting a leading international professional services firm in their search for a talented and motivated Financial Accountant, to join their dynamic finance team based in Liverpool. The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting operational finance across UK and international entities. This is a varied role with exposure to management and statutory accounts, payroll, budgeting and project support.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals and variance analysis
• Cashflow forecasting and monitoring
• Intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet controls
• Payroll journal posting and reconciliations (UK & International)
• VAT returns and support with statutory financial statements
• Budget preparation and reforecasting support
• Supplier and expense payment run reviews
• Liaising with auditors and supporting finance projects as required

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
• Excellent Excel skills, including advanced functions
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Proactive, adaptable and a strong team player
• Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
