Finance Manager EMEA

Newly created Finance Manager EMEA position due to increased growth (30% in the region) for large law firm. Due to the expansion and growth there is now a need for a finance business partner to work alongside the business and also alongside BD and HR locally.

As well as the business partnering and forecasting element of this role, this person will also ensure global financial standards are put in place in each jurisdiction.

Specific duties as the Finance Manager include:

  • Manage the daily activities of financial accounting and month end activities

  • Ensure the cash flow process is effectively managed by forecasting cash flow

  • Manage the banking facilities

  • Ensure compliance with financial global policies and maintain good internal control systems and operational processes for audit review and ISO 9001 accreditation.

  • Manage the year-end audit and reviews of the relevant countries. Communicate with external accountants and auditors in order to comply with local statutory, regulatory and professional requirements and manage the process of regulatory and financial end of year audits.

  • Ensure audits are completed efficiently whilst also working alongside the Global Finance team for the Firm's global year-end audit and reviews

  • Keep up to date with local legislation and legal requirements. Keep up to date of changes in the regulatory, financial and legal or tax environments to ensure the firm is compliant in all areas

  • Liaise with the Global Finance team to produce, prepare and analyse balance sheets, Profit and Loss audit schedules, management reports, yearly financial statements and any other management reports required.

  • Work with the Regional Managing Partner and business services managers to prepare the annual budgets in accordance with the global timetables

  • Business partner to EMEA Managing Partner and with Country Managing Partners, providing financial support to maximize profitability across the region.

  • Where needed, prepare financial information for pitches and tenders and work with the Business Development Manager and partners on pricing new work.

  • Ensure effective use of pricing tool

  • Prepare profitability analysis of clients and work with the Business Development Manager and partners to develop action plans to improve profitability.

Experience/ background required for the roles includes:

  • This person should have a background in either law firm, accountancy practice or wider professional services firm.

  • Will need to understand utilisation and the business leverage that comes with working with a law firm.

  • Must be commercially minded

  • Need to be qualified at least a few years post qualified

  • Open to occasional travel to Dublin.
