Finance Manager

Ambition are delighted to be working with a highly successful boutique law firm in the city who are hiring for a newly created Finance Manager position.

The firm has seen great growth over the last few years and are now in a position where they would like to invest further in the growth of their finance function. The firm is a close knit office that is down earth. The firm is also offering one of the most flexible hybrid working patterns on the market.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Producing the monthly management accounts and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Overseeing the VAT production and reporting, dealing with HMRC on other tax related queries
  • Reporting and analysis - assist the FD in the ongoing development of the reporting function
  • Involvement in the credit control process and oversight of the billing process
  • Reviewing and implementing pricing and rate methodology to assist with future pitches
  • Contributing to the year-end account preparation (involvement in the statutory audit and relevant schedules, liaising with the auditors)
  • Taking on projects and driving change through process and system improvements
  • Updating/developing procedures and policies in line with best practice
  • Working on the proposed Project to implement a new PMS

Requirements for the role include:

  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Experience preparing management accounts
  • Knowledge of SARs
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Preferably some systems implementation experience
