Job Title: International Events Manager (12-month FTC)

Location: London

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced International Events Manager to join their Marketing and Business Development (MBD) team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will lead a team to deliver a flagship UK programme of events and support global offices by spearheading projects and initiatives that align with strategic objectives across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning and Delivery: Lead the planning and execution of the UK events programme, including seminars, networking events, and hospitality, both face-to-face and digitally.
  • Project Management: Manage UK events from initial briefing and research through to completion and onsite delivery.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work with Business Development teams on event strategy, scheduling, and cross-collaboration opportunities.
  • Budget Management: Establish event budgets, objectives/KPIs, and follow-up programmes in collaboration with lead partners and Practice and Sector Business Development teams.
  • Innovation and Research: Lead on new technology and innovative solutions, conducting industry research to ensure the firm remains at the cutting edge of event delivery.
  • Marketing Communications: Prepare and implement marketing communications plans to promote events and maximize brand communication opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Continually review and implement new processes and initiatives to achieve firmwide strategic objectives.
  • ROI Reporting: Deliver and report on post-event ROI in line with industry benchmarks to measure and evaluate the success of event activities.
  • Stakeholder Education: Educate internal stakeholders and introduce best practice guides and supporting documents.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the wider Marketing, Communications, and Brand team as an events brand champion.
  • Budget Preparation: Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring events are delivered within the agreed budget.
  • Operational Coordination: Coordinate with external venues and internal operational functions to ensure smooth onsite delivery of events.
  • Strategic Event Support: Collaborate with the Senior International Events Manager to deliver the firm's annual Partners' Retreat, Sector and Practice Retreats, and other strategic events.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior team members and up-skill marketing team members.
  • Onsite Support: Provide onsite support at UK events and international retreats as required.

About You:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong project management skills with practical experience in leading flagship UK/global events programmes.
  • A proactive approach to event management and tech solutions.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong mentoring abilities and experience in deputizing team management.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging workloads, changing priorities, and tight timeframes.
  • Flexibility and a team-player mindset.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and personal presentation.
  • Attention to detail and strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database is desirable.
  • Professional services experience and marketing or event management qualifications are advantageous.
