I'm working with a top-tier US law firm to recruit a Client Development Manager for their London office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a globally respected firm with a strong reputation for excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
This role offers real breadth and strategic impact, with a strong focus on business development and client engagement across high-profile transactional practice areas including Private Equity, Strategic Transactions, and Tax. You'll be at the heart of the firm's growth strategy, driving initiatives that enhance visibility, deepen client relationships, and support profitable expansion across EMEA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development Strategy: Lead the development and execution of BD plans for London-based Corporate & Securities practices, aligning with global strategy. Support individual partner plans and lateral integration.
- Client Targeting & Market Intelligence: Identify new opportunities through research and data analysis. Provide insights on competitors and market trends to inform strategy.
- Pitching & Proposals: Produce high volumes of tailored, visually impactful pitches and RFP responses. Collaborate with partners and internal teams to develop winning strategies.
- Thought Leadership & Communications: Drive global campaigns including podcasts and industry reports. Oversee client communications, legal updates, and PR initiatives.
- Events & Sponsorships: Work with the events team to deliver targeted client events and sponsorships, ensuring strong ROI and engagement.
- Directories & Awards: Manage submissions to legal directories and awards, maximising recognition for the practice and individual lawyers.
- Digital & Content Strategy: Collaborate with digital marketing to maintain SEO-optimised web content and impactful social media messaging.
- Infrastructure & Tools: Champion the use of BD tools including CRM, experience databases, and pitch tracking systems.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Support junior colleagues and work closely with global BD, marketing, and legal teams.
What's needed:
- Previous Business Development / Client Development experience gained with a legal environment
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, working closely with partners, global marketing/BD colleagues, and other firm departments.
