Business Development Manager - Healthcare and Disputes

We are working in partnership with a US headquartered law firm to add additional headcount to their growing Business Development & Marketing function. The role will work across a diverse range of sectors covering Life sciences, Corporate & Litigation, which in our opinion should keep the role varied and interesting. In terms of the structure of the role you will report straight into the BD Director, giving the role plenty of scope for mid-long term career progression.

In our opinion the firm are very forward thinking in terms of their approach to BD and it's an exciting time to grow organically with a firm that are heavily investing in their London and European BD team.

Core duties will include;

  • Take ownership for devising the business plans for each sector, working in tandem with the partnership on the design of these and then ensure the plans are implemented and carried out against the objectives.
  • Working with the inhouse external comms team, work on raising the firm's profile and reputation in specific markets, through targeted marketing strategies and creative campaigns tailored to a specific market audience.
  • Creation of client targeting, and client relationship plans for the partnership, leading on global collaboration across several key clients and also providing strategic insight into potential new clients for the firm.
  • Support with sector related insight on the Bids process, whilst this will not be a bids heavy role as part of the London management team you will be required to support on these when relevant.

Given the firms values on creating a collaborative and team environment, the basis for bringing someone in alongside technical skills is very much centred on team fit and buying into the ethos currently established.

We are therefore open to considering individuals who are current Legal BDMs or potentially junior managers/senior executives who can demonstrate prior experience of the above. We are not as focused on the sector/industry knowledge as we feel this can be learnt on the job but prior experience of operating within a partnership model will be required.
