Business Development Manager - Financial Institutions Sector

A leading global law firm is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to join its Financial Institutions Sector (FIS) team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering global marketing and business development (M&BD) strategy across the FIS, Digital Assets & Blockchain (DAB), and FinTech practices-some of the most innovative and fast-evolving areas in the legal and financial landscape.

About the Role

As BD Manager you'll be working closely with senior stakeholders including the FIS Sector Head, DAB Partner Co-Chairs, and Global Heads for FinTech, leading on high-impact initiatives that drive client engagement, profile-raising, and revenue growth. This includes spearheading flagship campaigns such as the Digital Assets Summit, and contributing to the firm's broader digitalisation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement M&BD plans aligned with sector and firm-wide objectives
  • Lead on pitches, client targeting, and new business generation
  • Drive client development initiatives and cross-sector collaboration
  • Manage high-profile events and thought leadership campaigns
  • Build relationships with key industry bodies and sponsorship partners
  • Collaborate with global M&BD teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing

About You

  • Proven experience in a marketing and business development role within a professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of financial services, FinTech, or emerging technologies is advantageous
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with a collaborative and adaptable approach
