Billing Assistant

My client is a global law firm, specialising in IP & Media and values strong core values. They are looking for a Billing Assistant to join their Finance team in Liverpool on a permanent basis and are offering a competitive salary. This role will be well-suited for someone who has experience in billing or finance within the legal sector.

Key responsiblities:

  • Assisting with preparation and processing of the group's bills
  • Preparing credit notes, account transfers and writeoff
  • Dealing with team member and secretary queries on an ongoing basis on all billing-related matters including time transfers, fee allocations and write-offs
  • Liaising with Accounts to manage logging of disbursement invoices
  • Investigate credit balances and assist cashiers with reconciliations when required
  • Prepare WIP reports for team members
  • Liaising with team secretaries regarding invoices to be sent to clients
  • Managing electronic filing for billing documents
  • Opening new matters on the inception system
  • General clerical assistance for the group, in particular for the trade marks administration team

Key requirements:

  • Experience using Aderant / a legal finance system
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience handling billing/finance work
  • Attention to detail and ability to investigate and provide solutions to identified problems
  • Motivated team player with a proactive attitude
  • Manages workload proactively and independently and shows commitment to team objectives
  • Good communicator
