BD Executive

A top Intellectual property law firm is looking for a talented Business Development Executive to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and nurturing environment whilst having ownership of projects and day to day tasks. Based in the Shard, they are an innovative firm with a fun, driven and supportive culture, keen to recruit someone with similar values. Within this role you will get to work on a number of Marketing and BD projects spanning across the UK, Europe, China and the US.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for managing all aspects of business development
  • Work with and manage tenders and proposals on behalf of the firm
  • Lead sector group growth discussions, including IT&E, Life Sciences and Chemistry
  • Support geographical group growth discussions including UK, US, China and Japan
  • Manage the firm's Key Account Management programme to help develop existing client relationships
  • Manage the marketing budget and sector calendars
  • Support the management of events including sponsored and hosted events
  • Work closely with fee-earners to build relationships with third party organisations including accelerator hubs and sector trade bodies
  • Update the firm's international trip planner and hold debrief meeting with fee-earners following their BD travels
  • Attend external networking events on behalf of the firm
  • Drive and engage a BD culture within the firm

Other Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, report and evaluate the BD and Marketing plan daily
  • Ensure partners have the tools they need in order to win new business
  • Organise follow up meetings with relevant partners after events to discuss leads
  • Assist partners with proposal production, when necessary
  • Assist with key marketing projects as required
  • Proactively add value by suggesting new ideas and utilising existing ones

Desirable:

  • You will ideally have experience of working in a professional services firm
  • You will have experience of client sales / external selling positions

Person Specification:

  • Ability to work with key stakeholders, building long term relationships whilst also influencing and challenging where appropriate
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
