Job Description:
We are seeking an Audit Assistant Manager to oversee a small portfolio of audit clients. This role involves supporting senior colleagues across all audit job requirements, ensuring high-quality client service, adherence to job budgets, and maximum fee recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a small client portfolio.
- Supervise audit seniors, semi-seniors, and assistants.
- Support business development activities within the service line.
- Liaise with government bodies and external organizations such as HMRC.
Job/Workflow & Technical Management:
- Plan and prioritize client audit work.
- Prepare or delegate key client audit tasks within budget.
- Maximize audit efficiency and manage complex audit areas.
- Act as a key contact for outsourced team members.
- Monitor work progress and communicate with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Resolve issues and manage instances where work exceeds agreed fees.
- Complete administration on audit files and ensure they meet review standards.
- Prepare bills for client audit work and ensure timely delivery.
Client, Internal, and External Contact:
- Develop and support a small client portfolio, ensuring proactive contact.
- Act as a key contact for other audit clients to maximize delivered work.
- Return calls and correspondence promptly.
- Lead audit review and close-down meetings.
- Provide access and support for other internal departments to assist cross-selling services.
- Ensure compliance with AML, KYC reviews, and engagement letters.
Leadership, People Management, and Development:
- Supervise and provide feedback to team members involved in audit work.
- Participate in training for new starters and junior employees.
- Support the audit team in achieving departmental fee targets through networking and business pitches.
