Assistant Legal Cashier
I am looking for an assistant legal cashier to join my international law firm clients London finance team. The role reports into the Head Cashier and works in a cashiering team of 6.
Day duties of the role:
- Post Counsel and Expert fees using Chrome River, the firm's invoice processing platform
- Process payments for Counsel and Expert fees via the firm's internet banking system
- Check, collate, and upload foreign supplier invoices to Corpay, the firm's third-party foreign disbursement provider
- Pay foreign supplier invoices through Corpay and post additional invoices to Elite 3E, the firm's practice management system
- Post credit card transactions related to disbursements and office expenses
- Post chargeable disbursements (e.g., couriers, Companies House, Land Registry, Searchflow, HMCTS, taxi fares) to Elite 3E
- Review and post direct debits from the firm's main office account
- Assist with reconciliation processes, including nominal ledger, petty cash, and bank reconciliations
- Support the monitoring and clearance of residual client balances
- Run client interest calculations and post corresponding entries
- Monitor the Cashiers inbox and respond to queries from PAs and Fee Earners
- Handle receipt and banking of Office and Client account transactions, including bank transfers and cheques
- Manage incoming post related to cashiering duties
- Collaborate with the firm's offices globally when needed.
Experienced needed for the role:
- Experience in a cashiering, finance, or legal environment is desirable but not essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word, with strong competency in Excel
- Excellent numeracy skills and clear communication, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and well-developed organisational skills
- Familiarity with Elite 3E is desirable, though not required
- Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and resolve issues pragmatically
- Excellent customer service skills with a helpful, responsive, and proactive approach
- Adaptable and resilient, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality work
