Accounts Supervisor

Ambition is thrilled to be working with a top-ranking accountancy firm who is seeking n Accounts Supervisor to join their Business Services team in North London. The role will be directly working on varied portfolios of clients whilst managing client relationships. The Accounts Supervisor will need to be a point of knowledge for the team and will take an active role in the overall development and progression of your team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and supporting seniors and trainees in their day to day work, ensuring prompt delivery of individual client jobs to the relevant manager
  • Supervisors will support (assistant) managers in meeting client deadlines. This is most likely to involve you completing any action points that are outstanding, leaving the manager more time for reviewing (This will often involve the overseeing and completion of several client jobs at any one time )
  • Supervisors also become involved in higher level or more technically complex aspects of the client work and will attend client meetings where appropriate.
  • Freeing managers from more time-consuming tasks (e.g. updates to work following client comments, responses to queries, meetings; preparing for client meetings and booking them when needed)
  • Organising teams as needed; managing the progress and delivery of the team's work
  • Setting an example to trainees and seniors, in terms of the quality of your work, interactions with clients and relationships with more senior colleagues
  • Serving as a trusted first point of contact for clients' issues and queries on individual jobs
  • Maintaining technical knowledge: staying up to date with developments relevant to your department and demonstrating understanding of these in your work
  • Ensuring trainees are used where possible on the more complex jobs. Taking responsibility for the trainees' work and giving feedback.

What you need:

  • ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Need to live in the UK and able to travel to the office
  • Able to communicate clearly with commercial skills, building a mutual understanding with clients about how the firm can support them and their business goals.
  • Able to prioritise tasks with resources in mind.
  • Able to support a team by applying strong interpersonal skills and intuition.
  • Forward-thinking and adaptable
