Account Manager

A market leading communications consultancy providing reputation counsel across the legal sector, including major law firms, legal tech providers and industry bodies is looking for a bright and talented Account Manager. The talented team of 15 consultants are passionate about current affairs and advise clients across Corporate Communications, Crisis PR and Litigation PR. This successful consultancy is looking for someone who is highly organised with exceptional client management and media relations skills. The ideal person will be a self-starter who likes to take the initiative and someone who is excited to join an entrepreneurial business where they can play a role in the company's growth story. Key responsibilities

  1. Client account management
  • Account management of a portfolio of core client PR accounts, advising on campaigns including social and digital media.
  • Be responsible for ensuring accounts are tightly run on a day-to-day basis, making sure client trackers are updated and meeting deadlines
  • Hold client meetings with the support of the client lead
  • Provide advice to clients regarding their range of communications channels

  1. PR and media relations
  • Work with relevant account leads to ensure the effective implementation of client PR strategies
  • Develop and nurture journalist relationships on behalf of clients
  • Review and finalise drafts of client documents, including activity reports, press releases and PR strategies
  • Oversee the creation of media lists and forward features lists
  • Create and repurpose content across media relations, social media and other online channels
  • Line manage and mentor of Account Executives instilling the consultancy's culture and values

  1. Support to management team
  • Assist, as needed, on crisis and litigation PR projects. The activities will be specific to the brief but may include drafting statements, media relations/press office support and admin/reporting
  • Attend and present new business pitches
  • Project manage thought leadership and research
  • Support management team on initiatives and processes Key skills

About you

  • Excellent written and spoken English with laser-sharp attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to persuade and influence
  • Strong content skills across digital and print media channels
  • Commercially aware with excellent industry knowledge and a strong interest in the legal sector
  • Prior experience working in l professional services / corporate / business to business (B2B) PR gained in an agency or in-house Industry knowledge and media contacts are desired
  • A relevant undergraduate degree such as PR, law, journalism or English Literature would be beneficial but not essential
