Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Ambition is representing a top international law firm who are currently looking for a driven Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join their Financial Management team. As a Senior FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for leading the global Financial Planning & Analysis team in order to support and direct senior management in developing the firm's strategy. The FP&A team is responsible for the development and delivery of financial reporting, insight and analysis to support decision making by business owners and senior stakeholders across the organisation.

As the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager some of your responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development, review and analysis of practice, division and firm financial performance reporting, liaising with senior stakeholders as appropriate
  • Supervise and undertake the completion of ad hoc analysis and reporting in response to requests for information from partners and executive level senior management
  • Responsible for providing relevant internal financial analysis of client relationships for users across the firm, including partners and the Business Development team
  • Creatively review the required reporting and analysis, including the medium of delivery of financial reporting, to generate behaviour change and communicate effectively to stakeholders
  • Oversee the annual budget process
  • Ensure the provision of timely and relevant reporting to allow effective decisions to be made by senior management during the budget process.
  • Supervise the provision of finance expertise to manage and resource selected finance and cross-functional projects
  • Monitor external economic and industry trends
  • Liaise with the CFO, Head of Group Finance and the Head of Commercial Finance to develop and deliver management information and reporting
  • Build effective cross-departmental relationships to improve understanding of information needs across the business and assist in the education of users of financial information
  • Lead the global FP&A team ensuring engagement and alignment with the firm's objectives
  • Oversee the annual appraisal process, including clear performance feedback and goal setting, and ensure performance issues are managed promptly and appropriately
  • Work with team members to ensure that processes are as effective and efficient as possible, identifying the constraints of available systems and resources
  • Monitor and manage service standards, leading appropriate service improvement initiatives

To be successful in this Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager position, some of the requirements include:

  • Qualified Accountant with previous experience leading a financial planning and analysis function
  • Strong experience in the budgeting process
  • Managerial experience within professional services, ideally within the legal profession
  • Proven ability to drive change and a track record of successful management of project delivery
  • IT literate with a strong understanding of financial and management information systems
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial data, draw conclusions and make recommendations to the business
  • Excellent Communication skills
