Senior Finance Manager

Ambition is representing a top law firm who are currently looking for a driven Senior Financial Manager to join their team.

As a Senior Financial Manager, you will be working with partners and the COO to enhance and develop the practice group's profitability, by making informed financial decisions. The Senior Financial Manager role is based in their London office, where you will be working in a collaborative environment to deliver and maintain their reputation for excellence.

As the Senior Financial Manager some of your responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the financial performance of the London Corporate Practice
  • Lead the monitoring and management of the financial performance of the Global Corporate Practice, alongside the Global Corporate Managing Partners and COO
  • Manage the annual budget for the London Corporate Practice, consulting with the partners, HR, BD and COO as required
  • Prepare the London Corporate investment plan for review with the London Corporate Managing Partner and COO
  • Lead the review of the Global Corporate budget and Global Corporate investment plans and involvement in on-going global equity planning and management
  • Proactive business analysis, including regular meetings with partners to raise awareness of the key drivers of the business and how they can influence them
  • Lead on working capital management for the London Corporate Practice in conjunction with the Working Capital Controller team and work with the Global Finance department to improve billing efficiency and debtor lock up in all Corporate practices globally
  • Working with partners to help in the pricing of specific proposals
  • Work closely with the Financial Analyst to monitor profitability, identify financial trends and assist with data and analysis
  • Providing financial information on clients and matters to support the marketing and business development function within the practice
  • Assisting in strategic projects for the Global or London Corporate Practices, aiming to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business (i.e. Legal Technology)
  • Education role including preparation of partner candidates for the PSC, supporting new partners and presentations to sub groups and associates on pricing and profitability

To be successful in this Senior Financial Manager position, some of the requirements include:

  • Qualified or PQ Accountant desirable
  • Experience in forecasting and analysis in a legal or professional services environment desirable
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and the ability to adapt to unfamiliar financial reporting packages
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial data, draw conclusions and make recommendations to the business
  • Brilliant Communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment
