Legal Cashier

I am working on an exciting opportunity with an international law firm who are looking for a Legal Cashier to join their finance team. Your main responsiblity will be to deal with both the Office and Client accounts. It is required that you have legal cashiering experience and a good understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules before applying to this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Banking of Office and Client Account cheque receipts (Banking Rota for going to the bank)
  • Processing Client to Office transfers
  • Posting of investment account interest
  • Bank Reconciliations for Client Account on a daily basis and USD/Euro Client and Office Accounts on a daily basis
  • Monthly Reconciliation of Investment Accounts and Consolidated Client Account
  • Daily Bank Balances
  • Using our online banking system (Bankline) for internal transfers and foreign supplier payments
  • Running half yearly Interest Calculations (and on completion of matters)
  • Petty Cash and Foreign Currency ordering and reconciliations
  • Allocation of Client and Office Receipts
  • Client Payments
  • Providing general holiday cover for other members of the Cashiering team
  • Daily filing of all paperwork
  • Residual client balances
  • Office Credits/Unpaid Costs Report/Negative Unbilled Soft Costs Report - Daily checking
  • Audit Requests

Key requirements:

  • Ideally with 1 to 2 years legal cashiering experience
  • Working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Aderant knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excel knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload
  • Good attention to detail
  • Well organised, team player with a flexible and willing attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships
