Boutique law firm, looking for a Credit Manager to join them on an initial 6-month FTC basis in their stunning offices in central London.

As the Credit Manager you will be responsible for managing the collections team (team of 3 credit controllers) and processes, with a specific scope to improve collection rates for Departments and Practice Areas within the business, as well as focusing on high level and stubborn/doubtful debt.

Day to day duties include:

  • Develop and enforce credit control procedures
  • Review and analyse aged debt against defined metrics
  • Actively chase all overdue debt within the allotted portfolio and update Partners as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and up to date client notes following conversations with Partners and clients, using appropriate software to record status
  • Involvement in agreeing debt collection targets
  • Actively engage, on a monthly basis, with London Group Heads, and Global Office Heads, (either directly or with the support of the credit control team) on debt status and prepare monthly summary reports
  • Identify problem debts that require escalation and liaise with Finance Director as appropriate
  • Ensure debt provisions are accurate and appropriate and confirm position to Finance Director
  • Build strong working relationships with client base, Partners and other credit control team members
  • Produce copy bills or summary backup if required for clients to support debt collection activities
  • Identify and drive process improvements as appropriate
  • Manage London credit control team including staff appraisals, recruitment and overall leadership of credit control team
  • Maintain oversight over credit control function in offices other than London including regular dialogue and monitoring of metrics

Experience needed includes:

  • Law firm background
  • Experience managing a team
  • Solid credit control background
  • Aderant experience would be hugely advantageous but not essential
  • Must be readily available as this is an urgent role.
