Commercial Analyst

Leading International law firm are currently recruiting in their finance team having created a new position to focus on their financial Commercial Analysis. This will be an initial 6 month FTC vacancy with potential to go permanent.

As the Commercial Analyst you will be working closely with the COO, Legal Project Management unit, Partners, Finance Director and other senior decision-makers to help the firm increase its revenues profitably. This is both direct through securing positive outcomes to fee negotiations with clients, and indirect through the establishment and sharing of pricing best practice. The incumbent will play a central role in the continuous enhancement of the firm's pricing tools, procedures and policy, and will also assist and advise the firm's client relationship partners and other senior decision-makers on commercial matters and general management and staffing of client commercial relationships.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Work closely with the Partners and other senior decision-makers relating to matter resource planning and general management of client commercial relationships
Provide data analytics to better understand and predict costs of delivering work
Producing and analysing the price volume data and managing, operating and improving the matter planner tool
Review performance of existing pricing agreements to identify opportunities for enhancing current and future performance
Work closely with the Legal Project managers to develop metrics and reporting tools to clearly illustrate trends and analysis of pricing performance
Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decisions client and matter-based

Skill sets required for the role include:

Numerate, analytical and have the ability to transform complex information into meaningful data for partners
Confident in pricing strategy, modelling, implementation and integration
Management of senior internal stakeholders across a complex matrix organisation
Excellent relationship management skills, negotiation, and influencing abilities, with a track record of building and leveraging relationships
Possess an accountancy qualification (you will most likely have a CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualification)
