Working Capital Controller

Ambition is representing a Magic Circle Law Firm who are currently looking for a driven Working Capital Controller to join their global firm and maintain their reputation for excellence. The team is responsible for the whole working capital cycle and the reporting for clients. As a Working Capital Controller, you will be liaising with partners and fee earners by ensuring bills are accurate, adhering to client agreements and Solicitors Accounts Rules. As the Working Capital Controller some of your responsibilities include:

• Assist Partners on profitability forecasting for individual matters
• Review the client revenue and net investment balances (WIP and Debts) for partners you are allocated and take ownership of reporting
• Review billing write offs and ensure any material amounts are escalated to working capital manager
• Review unbilled disbursements account balances and disbursements written off for your partners on a monthly basis and investigate any significant movements
• Analyse current billing and profitability information and other items of a complex nature for reporting and problem-solving
• Preparation and processing of e-bills to ensure time and disbursements are accurately charged and allocated along with clearing rejected e-bills
• Assist partners in the preparation of matter budgets and regularly review WIP and debtor lock up days for partner matters
• Delivery, design and preparation of financial presentations
• Develop close relationships with the particular partners and central pricing team
• Liaising with the partners and Shared Service Centre (SSC) Credit Control team to improve the speed of cash collection
• Involvement in ad hoc projects

To be successful in this Working Capital Controller position, some of the requirements include:

• Revenue/Working Capital experience within the Legal sector or Professional services
• Excellent communicator and work effectively in a team
• Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
• Proactive and professional approach
