VAT/Indirect Tax Manager

We have been mandated on a VAT Manager position for a strong performing Accountancy Practice in London. This a great opportunity for an experienced VAT Assistant Manager who is looking for the next step in their career, or, a Manager who is looking for the opportunity to work within a leading VAT team, manage juniors and work closely with well established Senior Managers/Directors on both advisory and compliance work.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Provide technical VAT advice to a varied and interesting mix of clients
• Delegating to and managing VAT team junior staff
• Reviewing VAT returns prepared by other members of staff and preparing VAT returns that require more technical knowledge
• Training and mentoring within the VAT department and assisting with VAT training for other teams
• Working closely with the Due Diligence and Corporate Tax teams on transaction work
• You will be involved in business development initiatives such as client seminars and drafting of VAT alerts etc

Requirements for this role include:

• CTA qualified would be great, but not a must, candidates who are QBE will also be considered
• Strong technical knowledge - proven experience of providing indirect tax advice to a variety of clients including cross border transactions and property
• Experience of working as either an experienced Assistant Manager or Manager either within a practice, with a focus on VAT/Indirect Tax, or from the HMRC
• Have a desire to take responsibility for continuing to support development of your team
• Strong IT skills and the ability to analyse data
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising with team members and holding meetings with clients
