An exciting opportunity has arisen at one of our global law firm clients for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join a high‑performing Partner Financial Affairs team on a 12‑month maternity cover contract.

Whilst the team are based in the London office, my client is very flexible to consider someone outside of London on more of a remote working or part time working arrangement, in order to accommodate the suitable person for this contract role.

This role is central to the smooth running of the firm's partner tax operations, with responsibility for preparing annual tax reserves, leading the partner tax compliance cycle, and supporting key projects that underpin the team's ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed annual partner tax reserves for all global partners, incorporating:
    • UK and international profit allocations

    • Cross‑border income flows
    • Payments on account and adjusting items
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and timely delivery of all reserve calculations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead the full UK tax compliance cycle for UK‑resident and non‑resident partners.
  • Oversee coordination with external tax advisers and HMRC where required.
  • Review tax computations, returns and supporting documentation.
  • Supervise and collaborate closely with the Partner Tax Manager.
  • Assist with international partner tax compliance, including gathering information for non‑UK filings and supporting local tax teams.
  • Provide guidance to partners on tax treatment, estimated liabilities, and queries related to their individual positions.
  • Support partners joining or leaving the firm with transitional tax matters.

About You

  • Several years' experience as a tax adviser within an international law firm or large professional services firm.
  • Strong understanding of partner and partnership taxation, including international aspects.
  • Proven experience preparing partners' tax reserves, including handling DTR.
  • Deep knowledge of the partner tax compliance lifecycle.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong self‑review skills.
  • Service‑oriented, with a commitment to delivering high‑quality work to partners.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
