Senior Pursuits Manager

The Opportunity

The firm is seeking a Senior Pursuits Manager to play a critical role in driving strategic wins across its Public Interest (PI) portfolio, which includes major listed companies and large private‑equity‑backed groups. This is a newly created role with significant visibility, working closely with senior leadership to shape the pursuit strategy for some of the firm's most important opportunities.

The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative national Markets & Clients community, bringing structure, discipline and commercial challenge to high‑value pursuits and ensuring momentum at every stage of the sales cycle.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Pursuit Leadership

  • Lead the full pursuit lifecycle - from qualification and win strategy development through to shaping value propositions, preparing presentations and managing client debriefs.
  • Provide strategic input on opportunities where lighter‑touch support is required.
  • Apply a strong client‑centric lens to ensure the firm's response is tailored, differentiated and compelling.

Enhancing Go‑to‑Market Excellence

  • Work with senior leadership to evolve pursuit processes, systems and infrastructure in line with PI growth ambitions.
  • Build best‑practice bidding capability across the firm through coaching and structured training.
  • Analyse pipeline trends and provide insight‑driven recommendations to strengthen competitiveness.

Live Opportunity Management

  • Qualify opportunities against the firm's objectives, resourcing and competitive landscape.
  • Bring together the right mix of subject‑matter expertise to maximise win probability.
  • Coach teams - individually and collectively - to elevate client interactions, presentations and pitch performance.
  • Lead the pursuits support team to ensure consistent delivery, aligned contributions and timely outputs.
  • Drive relationship‑building plans to deepen engagement with key decision‑makers and influencers.
  • Conduct thorough win/loss debriefs and embed lessons learned into future pursuits.
  • Uphold firm policies around risk, quality, pricing and brand.

About You

The firm is looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience in a professional services BD/pursuits environment (Big Four or Top 10 experience advantageous).
  • Deep understanding of the sales and pursuits cycle, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or supporting strategic pursuits in complex, large‑scale organisations (FTSE 350 exposure ideal).
  • Strategic, creative and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong coaching and facilitation abilities.
  • Confidence and credibility when managing senior internal stakeholders.
  • Interest in PI‑focused services (experience helpful but not essential).
