An opportunity to support partners and the wider International Markets team across strategically important jurisdictions, primarily Africa and India, with scope to contribute to wider strategic initiatives as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Support delivery of Africa and India business development plans
- Coordinate India business planning, budgeting and financial reviews
- Prepare materials for senior strategy and governance meetings
- Act as a central BD contact for Africa-related London initiatives
Business Development & New Business
- Identify and track opportunities with partners across Africa and India
- Support selected pitches and proposals, sharing best practice and credentials
- Manage CRM activity for key client accounts
- Maintain and develop core marketing collateral (brochures, one‑pagers, invitations)
Relationships & Local Counsel
- Support partners in building and strengthening relationships with local counsel
Events
- Lead delivery of international markets events in London
- Support delivery of on-the-ground events in Africa, India and other priority regions
Brand & Profile
- Project manage selected directory submissions for India
- Support media engagement to raise profile in India
- Maintain India web content and support the Africa blog
- Monitor regional developments and identify profile‑raising opportunities
- Support internal Africa engagement initiatives and discussion forums
Internal Collaboration & Knowledge
- Manage internal newsletters for relevant jurisdictions
- Contribute to BD knowledge sharing and best practice
- Maintain India intranet and shared resources
- Work collaboratively across the BD team to drive collective success
Research & Information
- Deliver market and client research to support targeting initiatives
- Maintain opportunity pipelines and financial reporting for the India practice
Skills & Experience
- Degree educated (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in business development or marketing
- Experience or strong interest in international markets, particularly Africa or India
- Professional services or legal sector experience preferred
- Strong project management skills, with exposure to strategic pitches and tenders
- Confident working in a partnership environment
- Strong systems capability (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; CRM experience advantageous)
- Collaborative, commercially minded and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment
