QuickBooks Bookkeeper

Ambition is working with well-established, ethical, independent accountancy firm in East London who are currently seeking a Bookkeeper with recent experience in QuickBooks to join their team.

The Firm

The firm is an independent accountant established over 25 years ago and has thrived by building on a foundation of providing a high-quality service and genuine care to their clientele. The firm provides a full suite of accountancy services and has grown through word of mouth and networking in niche circles. Offices are in East London easily accessible by public transport and car for those people commuting from Essex, Herts, and North London. Full safety measures are in place for staff as well as having the ability to work remotely.

The Role

As Bookkeeper the role will provide bookkeeping services to a varied and interesting client portfolio with whom there will be a great deal of interaaction. As the large percebtage of the the portfolio do thier books on QuickBooks, having that experience will be a prerequisite for this role.

In addition to the client work, there is also the prospect of being the firms in-house bookkeeper and working closlely with the partners of the firm. The role has close interaction with colleagues in a friendly and inclusive working environment, both at home and in the office.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following

  • Preparing VAT calculations & returns
  • Managing Bank reconciliations
  • Management Accounts
  • Double entry bookkeeping
  • Daily Bookkeeping tasks
  • Use of QuickBooks online - and essenrtial requirement
  • Use of Dext Prepare/Receipt Bank

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of working in an accountancy practice, demonstrate good communications skills, be organised and proactive, client focus and teamwork with excellent attention to detail. For any applicant to be considered for this role, recent and certifable experience on QuickBooks is an essential requirement.

Essential skills include:

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Word.
  • Experience working in practice
  • Qualified by experience or AAT qualified or studying AAT
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Highly organised and motivated

Candidates will also need to be able to commute easily to East London and parking is available to those who drive.
