The Marketing & Business Development Assistant will play a key supporting role across the firm's Marketing and BD function, helping to deliver activity that raises awareness, builds relationships and drives business growth.

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, this is a broad-based, hands-on role ideal for someone eager to gain experience across the full marketing and business development mix - including campaigns, events, digital, client relationships, pitching, PR and internal communications.

Key responsibilities

Campaigns & Marketing Support

  • Support the delivery of firmwide and sector-specific marketing and BD campaigns.
  • Assist with the coordination and scheduling of content across digital channels, including website, email and social media.
  • Help prepare materials for marketing initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with the firm's brand.
  • Liaise with suppliers, agencies and partners as required to support marketing activities.

Events & Client Engagement

  • Provide practical support in the planning and delivery of client events, webinars and hospitality, from invitations and logistics to post-event follow-up.
  • Help maintain guest lists, RSVPs and attendance records.
  • Support the follow-up process after events, ensuring that new opportunities are captured and acted on.

Business Development & Client Support

  • Assist with the preparation of credentials, proposals and pitch materials.
  • Help maintain and update CRM and manage reporting
  • Maintain and update case study and tombstone library
  • Support the delivery of targeting and client development initiatives, including research and data analysis.
  • Work with colleagues to help coordinate and track follow-up activity from BD initiatives.

Digital, PR & Communications

  • Support the Digital Marketing Manager in managing website updates and social media content.
  • Help monitor analytics and engagement data to inform future activity.
  • Assist with drafting and uploading internal communications and announcements.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for PR activity and external communications.

Team Support

  • Provide general support across the Marketing & BD function.
  • Help coordinate team meetings, schedules and project timelines.
  • Maintain records, reports and shared resources to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Be a visible, positive and proactive member of the team, contributing ideas and supporting colleagues as needed.

Skills, experience and attributes

Experience

  • Some prior experience (including internships or placements) in marketing, communications or business development - ideally within a professional services or corporate environment.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in marketing and business development within the legal or professional services sector.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing platforms (such as LinkedIn, WordPress, email marketing tools or CRMs) is desirable but not essential - training will be provided.

  • Highly organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Curious, proactive and eager to learn from a wide range of marketing and BD activities.

  • Confident using technology and comfortable learning new systems.
