Management Accountant

How you'll make a difference

As a Management Accountant based in the North London office with the internal finance team, you'll play a key role in the business operations of the group of companies, as they continue their growth plans across their range of key sectors and service lines.

By combining your technical expertise, industry experience, and personal touch, your varied work will help a range of colleagues through reporting and direct support, giving essential insights into their commercial performance.

As the Management Accountant you will be:

  • Supporting the business operations with variance analysis of budgets and forecasts, using underlying operating system data.
  • Controllership of the business's core practice management system data and controls - Practice Engine (our time and billing system).
  • Producing monthly management accounts with key financial insights and relevant KPIs.
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet control accounts such as prepayments and accruals, and processing monthly and ad hoc journals.
  • Ensuring that transactions and processes comply with the internal controls, and mitigating financial risk by suggesting improvements.
  • Supporting and implementing automation tools to make our financial reporting more efficient and accurate.
  • Supporting the production of our year-end statutory accounts and audit process.

You'll be ideal for this Management Accountant role if you:

  • Are a qualified accountant with at least two years' experience.
  • Have experience in a professional services environment.
  • Thrive on a variety of work, from core management accounting tasks to more complex projects.
  • Work with large volumes of data via pivot tables and other tools, while also identifying and implementing automated data processing solutions.
  • Can demonstrate a commercial and proactive mindset.
  • Enjoy building and maintaining trusted relationships, in person and remotely, from junior colleagues to senior leaders.
  • Are confident in proposing changes and putting them into action, particularly changes that aid analysis of financial performance.
  • Are keen to progress your career towards financial controller and management responsibilities.
