Management Accountant

I am so excited to be working on this Management Accountant role with one of our top law firm clients! This role is going to be part of a new team to streamline the Management Accounting processes, whilst also introducing a commercial side to the role/team with the view to introduce Finance Business Partnering to the firm and the role.

In this Management Accountant role some of your duties will include -

  • Discover and comment on month end variances across all offices.
  • Assisting with the preparation of month end journals.
  • Responsibility for key account reconciliations including accruals, prepayments and fixed assets for a range of offices.
  • Being a key contact to Business Functions Directors and Office Managers for costs.
  • Arranging and attending monthly meetings to:
    • Produce a continually updated cost forecast.
    • Produce monthly and ad hoc variance analysis and commentary.
    • Challenge movements from budget and forecast.
    • Understand any projects and future plans including both cost and cash flow impacts.
    • Development of monthly departmental packs including both cost and headcount reports for business directors and office managers.
    • Assist in the development of a range of cost allocations including global, regional and local office recharges.
  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process including meeting with Business Functions Directors, Office Managers and Office Heads.
  • Agreeing salary costs and headcount with HR departments, continually reconciling salary headcounts against revenue headcounts.
  • Building a capital project budget with Business Functions Directors and Office Managers, agreeing the projects with Senior Management.
  • Developing the budgeting process, recommending and implementing changes to timelines, processes, reporting, templates and systems.
  • Assisting with the production of the annual cost rates.
  • Assisting with the production of the budget phasing and system loads.
  • Assisting with the training, development and delegation of work to the junior members of the team.
  • Dealing with ad hoc queries and projects.

To be successful in this Management Accountant role you must -

  • Part qualified/ Newly qualified / Final stage ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Experience of dealing with senior management.
  • Experience of working through change.
  • Ideally experience of working in a law firm or professional services firm
