International Tax Manager

We have partnered with one of our long-standing US law firm clients in the search for a newly created International Tax Manager to join its London office. play a key role in supporting firm-wide international tax compliance and advisory work, focusing on offices outside the US (Europe, Middle East, and Asia).

This is a brilliant opportunity working alongside the Senior International Tax Manager, playing a key role in supporting firm-wide international tax compliance and advisory work, focusing on offices outside the US (Europe, Middle East, and Asia).

The main focus of the work with be supporting with international project work. Their compliance is outsourced but you will be supporting in managing that relationship.

You will collaborate with colleagues across the Global Tax Department, International Operations team, Finance, HR, and Partners worldwide, as well as external advisors and tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on domestic and international tax considerations for cross-border transactions, including VAT/GST and withholding tax queries.
  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing obligations, including preparation/review of documentation for non-US offices.
  • Manage non-US tax compliance requirements (e.g., tax returns, TP filings) and ensure timely submissions.
  • Provide guidance on global mobility issues, including permanent establishment.
  • Handle non-US tax inquiries and audits in collaboration with Finance teams.
  • Conduct tax research projects on updates to laws and regulations affecting the partnership.
  • Support special projects involving domestic/international tax considerations.
  • Drive process improvements and collaborate with Finance & Accounting teams to ensure accurate tax positions.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors, managing costs and ensuring value-added advice.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong experience in international taxation, ideally within a global partnership.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to critically assess advice from global tax advisors.
  • Proactive, 'can-do' attitude with flexibility to meet tight deadlines.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of solid international tax experience, ideally within a Big 4 accounting firm and/or multinational law firm partnership.
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification.
  • Proven experience working across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Skilled in researching overseas tax laws/regulations and applying them practically.
