Group Accountant

An international, top 20 law firm are looking for a Group Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

As the Group Accountant your main responsibilities will include -

• Financial Statements
• Plan the year-end timetable for all offices, to fit in with the overall global plan developed with the Group FC
• Pre year end set-up including management charge, members Interest reconciliations and preparation of global reporting packs for all offices
• Together with the Group FC, undertake the annual statutory WIP Valuation
• Produce Group Consolidation
• Manage the finalisation of Management Accounts profit
• Management Charge & Interest Calculations
• Service Company recharges
• Corporation Tax payments
• Finalise UK GAAP profit
• Reconciliations
• Members Interests (capital, tax & reserves) including statement of changes
• Cashflow Statement workings
• Production and approval of LLP and subsidiary Financial Statements
• Ensure the data integrity of our financial system (Aderant) and global local reporting requirements in production of the financial statements.
• Provide technical support to the central finance team in the UK
• Regular contact with Finance managers to discuss and resolve local accounting issues
• Technical support on variety of group projects which may include group restructuring, new offices, new ventures, mergers, and start-ups.

To be successful in this Group Accountant position you will have the following -

• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge and previous experience of Aderant is a plus
• Good organisational skills with the ability to use own initiative and a proactive attitude
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work produced
• Ability to stay calm in often demanding situations
• Team player and flexible with a can-do attitude
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to distil financial information to non-financial senior managers
