Financial Analyst

Ambition is representing a Top International Law Firm, who are currently looking for a fully qualified Financial Analyst. As a Financial Analyst, you will be supporting the International Practice group Heads and UK Practice Groups with month end analysis, preparation of budgets and reforecasting. This role will be reporting to the Financial Analysis Manager and will be part of the Group Finance team. The firm supports a flexible working environment and promotes equal opportunities.

As the Financial Analyst some of your responsibilities include:

• Financial Performance analysis to help maximise profitability across the UK groups, detailed analysis around realisation, fee earner utilisation, working capital (lock-up) cycles as well as practice costs review and analysis
• Monitor performance against long-term strategic and short-term operational plans
• Business Planning and Budgeting
• Business Case proposals, assisting group heads in the preparation of business cases to be used to support the election of new partners or the hire of lateral partners within each business group
• Financial modelling and accompanying documentation for other ad-hoc projects impacting the business group
• Providing information and analysis to support the partners
• Assisting other functional staff; Profitability, KPIs, fee earner utilisation, billings and collections
• Compliance with time-recording policies
• Collaborating with IT to generate new reporting when required
• Testing and validating new reporting to ensure consistency, accuracy and completeness of data.
• Assisting with sector or product initiatives and client performance and profitability reviews

To be successful in this Financial Analyst position, some of the requirements include:

• Qualified accountant with experience in the Legal Sector or wider Professional Services
• Previous management accounting experience of budgeting, planning and financial modelling required
• Brilliant Communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good Excel and data manipulation skills
