Financial Accountant

One of my top law firm clients are looking for an experience and fully qualified Financial Accountant to join their close close-knit team based in Bristol. This is a hugely impressive international law firm who are known for looking after their staff and having a brilliant culture.

In this role as Financial Accountant some of your duties will include -

• Assist in the preparation of the monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and associated variance reports to budget holders for the UK. Where appropriate take primary responsibility for certain cost centres.
• Lead the annual statutory audit of including liaison with external auditors.
• Preparation of monthly financial accounts; including journal postings, accruals and prepayments plus monthly cash flow analysis..
• Responsible for ensuring all payroll runs for our Service Company and key controls are reconciled on a monthly basis.
• Manage the quarterly resource plan process and monthly headcount analysis for Business Services
• Analyse and report on key performance areas in Business Services functions.
• Oversee monthly reconciliation of control accounts
• Contribute to the development of the Trainee Accountant
• Ability to research and fact find on payroll and tax related queries.
• Support the preparation and completion of the annual overhead budgets from UK Business Service budget holders.
• Manage all accounting and reporting required for our US Operations, including accruals, prepayments, P&L, balance sheet, fixed assets, quarterly tax returns and support on all finance related queries.
• Contribute to improvements in key processes within financial accounting remit where necessary to deliver efficiencies and improved accuracy.

To be successful in this Financial Accountant position you must -

• Be a fully qualified Accountant
• Ideally have experience of working within a Legal or Professional Services experience
• Strong excel skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work within a team or on own initiative and have the ability to see the wider picture.
