Event Manager (Contract 12 mths)

We are delighted to be representing a fantastic City Law Firm recruit an Event Manager on a fixed term basis (12 months).

As the Event Manager you will be working with the London and EMEA Partners, will take ownership of the strategic events programme for the London office and ad hoc EMEA events; agreeing priorities, creating and implementing events and setting objectives that align with the London office strategy.

The Event Manager will view themselves as an equal partner in the business.

The Event Manager will be responsible and accountable for the event activities of the London office and ad hoc EMEA events and be responsible for delivering successful events on behalf of the partners.

As an Events Manager, they will lead by example, set expectations for the events team and ensure that the team continues to be a proactive group that stimulates thinking and challenges the practice to be best in class.

The events team works adjacent to the Business Development, Marketing & Communications team, supporting Shearman & Sterling's strategic goals of practice expansion, reputation-building, business development and client development.

Some of the key requirements for the Event Manager's role includes the following;

Eight years event management experience ideally from a financial or professional services background. Alternatively, agency experience of working with large corporate accounts and events at smaller-larger scale

Ability and willingness to take the initiative, be proactive and challenge status quo

Strong event operational skills, including proven track record of delivering all events types

Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe and deliver high quality work

Excellent working knowledge of suitable venues - including in the UK, Middle East and across Europe, entrepreneurial and takes initiative to deliver solutions

This role does come with line management responsibilities.
