Client & Data Onboarding Manager

Newly created position with a global law firm which sits in their Finance Systems team as a Client & Data Onboarding Manager.

This role is focused on looking at onboarding of the finance systems data to support client onboarding, and to support billing and e-billing.

There will be a lot of the work looking at outside council guidelines, engagement terms, billing guidelines, time keeper rates and working with the client on how they can configure Elite 3e systems to support what they are seeing in client billing guidelines.

Role and responsibilities

  • Work with the Finance Systems Support Senior Manager to provide strategic leadership and vision to the Client Onboarding team. Setting the direction and structure of the team to ensure effective use of resources whilst delivering an accurate and efficient service.
  • Providing strong leadership to drive delivery by setting clear goals and by motivating and developing the team. This involves setting direction and priorities whilst directing team members on tasks and planning.
  • To create a highly motivated onboarding and client data organisation that works together to deliver a quality service.
  • To develop specific proposals on how the onboarding and client data team can continually improve the service it provides.
  • Review and refine the SLA's for the team whilst ensuring timely intervention when issues and delays arise.
  • To keep stakeholders and senior management informed regarding issues that may impact our processes, profitability or client relationships.
  • To ensure team processes and procedures are efficient and effective, ensuring continual review of all processes and the creation of new ones where necessary. Ensure that these are being applied individually and across the team with due rigour, quality and transparency.
  • Work with the Pricing & Commercials Team, along with other Finance Teams to build out a capability that manages and maintains timekeeper rate data and other client data to support accurate and efficient billing.
  • Review bill submission analytics to guide improvements in the quality of data collected and maintained as part of the onboarding and financial transaction processes.
  • Build relationships with clients and third party vendors to ensure their e-billing systems are understood and aligned where possible to our key processes.
  • Partner with the Finance Systems support team to ensure the relevant internal finance systems are utilised expertly to deliver excellent client data and onboarding processes.
  • Review the systems and tools that are used throughout the maintenance of client data and onboarding processes to ensure they are configured for optimal use and are updated efficiently.
  • Streamline the collection, storage and firm wide use of engagement terms data and its application within Finance processes.
  • To build and maintain effective relationships with senior finance, engagement terms teams and other departmental staff in all of the firms offices. Through these relationships, ensure that the aims of group finance are met and that the department achieves its goal of delivering a high quality seamless service to the business.
  • Assist with the day to day client onboarding activities; including review agreements, ratify client data, configure systems, update timekeeper rates, support first invoice submission and complete the handover processes to relevant teams.

Experience in a client onboarding role from a finance data perspective in a law firm or wider professional services firm would be ideally, otherwise, they would also consider a strong manager from a billing/e-billing background. Experience of people management is essential for this hire.

Work pattern - 60% of your time in the office VS 40% at home

Additional bonus potential which was 8.5% last year.
