Business Development Manager - Paris

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development professional to join a prestigious global law firm as their first BD hire in Paris. This newly created, standalone role will play a pivotal part in shaping and driving the firm's business development, marketing, and profile‑raising efforts across France, while working closely with senior stakeholders across Europe, the US and Asia. With a focus on supporting Private Capital Transactions, Asset Management and Tax groups, this position offers significant scope to influence strategy, lead key initiatives, and act as a trusted adviser to partners in a leading global law firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement client and business development plans for key practices in Paris, including budget management and revenue‑growth initiatives.
  • Lead pitches, proposals and capability statements, ensuring strong win strategies, high‑quality materials and effective post‑pitch follow‑
  • Drive market, client and competitor research to support strategy, partner initiatives and client‑facing activity.
  • Coordinate marketing and communications for the Paris office, including PR, media outreach, directories and rankings.
  • Plan and deliver events, seminars and sponsorship activity, partnering with global teams to ensure seamless execution and brand alignment.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Full professional fluency in French and English, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both.
  • Experience in business development within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Previous experience of supporting transcactional practice groups would be an advantage.
