Business Development Manager (CORPORATE) FTC


We are delighted to be representing a prestigious law firm in central London to recruit an Interim Business Development Manager (IBDM) for a 12-month FTC.

Reporting to the Senior BD Manager (Tech/Media/Corporate), this position provides dedicated support to the Corporate Team.

The objective of the role will be to support the corporate team on their full range of business development initiatives, including across M&A (public and private), ECM, banking and finance, real estate and non-contentious regulatory insurance.

The Corporate Team is a key part of the firms broader commercial offering. It is comprised of M&A, banking and finance, and real estate lawyers.

It is a highly collaborative team that works for a mixture of public and private strategic corporates, PE firms, primary and secondary lenders, real estate investors and incumbent insurance giants. Their key sectors of focus are tech, retail and insurance.

The Interim Business Development Manager will support corporate related BD and Marketing activity. The corporate group focuses on five key areas:

    1. M&A and JVs (public and private)
    2. ECM
    3. Private Equity
    4. Banking and Finance
    5. Real Estate

The Interim Business Development Manager will focus on these key areas.

Business and BD planning, Key Client Support, Lead Generation, Content, Communications, Branding/Awareness, Selling support, Marketing and profile raising, Collaboration, Measurement and reporting, Pitching, Budgets and Meetings
Some of the key skills, knowledge and experience required are;

  • A strong understanding of business-to-business marketing, business development and relationship management within professional services, ideally the legal sector
  • Evidence of good Partner management skills, ideally gained within a professional services environment
  • Experience of delivering on short term objectives in similar interim roles
  • An understanding of the workings and language of a commercial team in a law firm.
