Ambition is delighted to be partnering on an exclusive basis with established global law firm Simmons & Simmons to hire their first business development professional based in the US in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will be working very closely with the firm's Head of the US & the Global Head of Clients & Sectors, to help develop and implement the Business Development, Marketing & Client Development strategy for the firm.

The Duties involved in the role
Working with the Head of the US on a daily basis, you will be tasked with delivering the firm's US business plan, this work will have a particular focus on the firm's established Technology, Media & Telecoms sector and will cover a wide variety of Marketing and Business Development duties.
Form a key part of the US office team, to help drive new client wins, existing client relationship management, supporting relationships with clients based in the US, also ensuring that this joins up with the firm's existing global client relationship programme.
As part of the wider International Marketing team, working in tandem with the sector leads and colleagues to provide joined up global marketing initiatives when appropriate to the US office, including supporting visits from global teams into the US market.
Support the profile-raising duties for the firm's US office, working with internal PR and Events professionals, to enhance the firm's brand and reputation within core markets. This will also include identifying and planning thought leadership opportunities, working with professional networks and implementing campaigns relevant to the US market.
Lead on the US events programme, taking on the organisation and project management of the events. You will also be expected to provide ROI on each individual event.
Play an important role in the bid/pitch process specific to the US market, working with key partners and wider business development colleagues on the production of this material.
Keep on top of marketing and business intelligence for the firm, with a particular focus on developments in Silicon Valley & the broader international TMT space.
International cross selling, be in communication with colleagues around the world ensuring there is joined up thinking to what the firm can offer US based clients.
Experience we are looking for
Previous experience of operating within the professional services industry would be highly advantageous. Experience within the Legal sector would be highly beneficial.
Experience of working with clients within the Technology, Media and Telecoms space and an understanding of this business environment would be preferred but not essential.
Someone who is excited by the idea of playing a crucial part in building the US business, you will need to have the experience and feel comfortable to contribute ideas to the firm and be able to work in autonomous environment as the work dictates.
A passion for building and delivering best in class client service, this will range from maintaining and enhancing relationships with current clients and fostering new potential relationships.
Have exposure of project managing and taking a lead on a wide variety of Marketing duties including; event management, social media, public relations & bids.
Enjoys being part of an international firm, previous experience of working in teams that cover the EMEA markets alongside the US would be beneficial.
