Audit Manager

I am currently working with an established multi-partner firm who are looking to hire an ambitious Audit Manager.

You will be given a portfolio of around £500k consisting of clients across a range of industries up to £500m in turnover. Sectors include retail, fintech, manufacturing, financial services and creative industries and include some household names.

In his role you will be given the exposure and responsibility needed to take your first steps toward partnership. These include getting involved with business development and in time building your own portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor jobs, work and resources within agreed budgets to meet deadlines
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Manage and allocate work to team in conjunction with other Managers and contribute to the running of the department
  • Review work for quality and compliance
  • Coach and develop team members giving constructive feedback to enhance their development
  • Ensure that files are completed to the required standard for Partner review
  • Make recommendations to the Partner as part of the file review and continuous improvement
  • Liaise with other departments in order to efficiently complete jobs
  • Participate in ad hoc work
  • Manage the WIP and billing process on the client portfolio and update the Partner
  • Provide technical advice to the team and client when required
  • Provide input for the Performance Development Review (PDR) process, setting appropriate objectives to the team, reviewing progress and develop skills in conjunction with the Manager/Partner
  • Interpret and apply audit and accounting standards
  • Promote and advocate the firm's methodology applying professional ethics and standards
  • Identify opportunities by up-selling and cross selling services to clients
  • Develop your own professional network for marketing and business development to introduce new work
  • Actively involved in pitching and securing new work
  • Contribute to firm wide initiatives
  • Act with honesty and integrity in all dealings with clients, contacts and colleagues, respecting confidentiality and building trust

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
  • Experience working as an audit manager with a portfolio in excess of £300k
  • Must have good exposure to audit (ideally 40%+ in your current role)
  • Exposure to IFRS would be beneficial
  • Right to work in the UK
