I am currently working on an exciting opportunity with a Top 10 accountancy firm that is looking for an Associate Director.

The firm are in a really strong position having seen strong growth over the past twelve months and as a result of growth are looking to add to their team.

You will be working with a varied portfolio across a variety of industries and ranges from entrepreneurial start ups to large international groups and AIM listed businesses.

The role

You will be tasked with contributing to the firms strategy and running of the department as well as working on some of the firms most important clients. Some responsibilities include;

  • Manage a portfolio of clients
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the clients' businesses and/or provide additional services
  • Manage client billing effectively
  • Managing audits and setting budgets
  • Set timetables, book staff, planning review and completion of audit and other related assignments
  • Review work in accordance with the firms procedures and provide technical advice/support where necessary
  • Organise staff to work on client engagements, ensuring clarity about the functions required, ensuring they are properly trained and receive appropriate feedback
  • To delegate appropriate work to more junior staff
  • Monitoring of qualified and student bookings and workloads to ensure most efficient use of resources
  • Prepare proposals for new work, attend marketing events, develop personal contacts and identify and develop opportunities with current clients
  • Ensuring appropriate in house and external training

Requirements

  • ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
  • Significant external audit experience gained within a professional services firm in the UK
  • Experience of working with entrepreneurial, OMB, SME and AIM listed clients
  • Experience with business development
