Assistant Management Accountant
My client is an independent Law Firm who are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone has experience in the Legal sector and is looking for study support for either ACCA or CIMA. The role requires the individual to contribute towards the effectiveness of the Finance team by assisting with accurate reporting, analysis and dealing with all day to day aspects of the Accounting function. They will be required to maintain excellent relationships with internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts including posting accruals, prepayments in accordance with an agreed timetable
Assist with the preparation and production of the annual budget for the firm, working closely with the Finance Manager to agree drivers and assumptions with the Fee Earning teams and Business Service teams
Assist Business Services Directors and Managers on various queries including client/sector billing information for Marketing, GL queries on expenditure and budget queries
Assist Fee Earners with various queries in relation to navigating and obtaining relevant data from the firm's financial information system
Maintaining and updating Fee Earners' hours target in Aderant, liaising with HR to obtain relevant data and explaining adjustments to Fee Earners where necessary
Completing monthly, quarterly and annual legal surveys and Office for National statistics submissions
Support Finance Manager on ad-hoc requests for financial analysis such as quarterly finance presentation slides, client profitability, pricing for pitches and Partner assessment data
Key requirements:
Part-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) preferred or looking to study towards CIMA or ACCA
Experience of working in professional services, particularly legal industry preferred but not essential
Excellent organisational skills and able to effectively manage workloads particularly in times of conflicting deadlines and busy periods
Ability to work without supervision, proactive and prepared to use initiative
Confident, with excellent communication skills and a confidential approach where necessary
Experience of Aderant would be desirable
