Assistant Financial Controller (FTC)

Ambition is currently working with an international law firm who are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Controller (12 month contract) to manage and develop the London Finance team as a commercially focussed department. The Assistant Financial Controller will manage a team of two and have the ability to deal with a high volume of work and meet deadlines. As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will be a good communicator and have high levels of interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire the Financial Accounting team

As the Assistant Financial Controller some of your responsibilities include:

• Production of the annual audited Financial Statements
• Managing the annual audit process, working closely with the audit team and liaising with the accountants in the Group offices
• Preparation of the annual budget and business plan using SAP BPC
• Reconciliation and maintenance of partner ledgers within the Elite general ledger (profit, drawings, tax reserves).
• Preparation of annual partner compensation model
• Annual preparation of forecast cash flows for partners drawings and distributions
• Preparation of financial data for insurance renewals
• Review and authorisation of office and client account payments
• Managing the distribution of financial reports each month and the review of the Balance Sheet reconciliations received
• Managing the reconciliation of various Elite general ledger control accounts
• Managing the preparation and submission of Payment Practices reports
• Managing the preparation of the monthly profit and loss account
• Assisting in ensuring the smooth financial integration of current and future overseas operations
• You will be involved in developing the Firm's new PMS - Elite 3E as well as Chrome River

To be successful in this Assistant Financial Controller position, some of the requirements include:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA) with significant years of experience
• Knowledge of UK GAAP (ideally FRS102)
• Experienced in team management
• Previous experience with Elite Enterprise and/or Elite 3E is highly desirable but not essential
• Experience of SAP BPC and Chrome River advantageous
• Excellent Communication skills
