Investment Operations Associate

A leading investment firm focused on asset-backed opportunities in the UK as well as across Europe are keen to hire a new Associate into the Loan Operations team on a permanent full-time basis.

You will be responsible for all operational activity involved in the whole life cycle management and administration of loans originated and managed by the firm on behalf of the fund, including co-investment arrangements. The position requires a candidate of extremely high quality with a keen eye for detail.

A key part of the role will be to provide oversight and day-to-day management of the transactions post-closing whilst also managing the relationships with outsourced KYC, Loan and Find Administrators.

You'll review complex loan and security documentations and prepare key control sheets for deadlines and key events through the lifecycle of the transaction. On average, you will be responsible for 5-8 separate loans that can vary in size between £15m - £75m.

In addition, you will manage the operational process of closing, reconciliation of funding and booking of new investments plus you will monitor cash and loan reconciliation reports, act as the first point of contact for any issues and to support the quarterly investor reporting process.

There may be some international travel involved in the role with respect to visiting borrowers and the respective assets across Europe plus you'll liaise with solicitors, valuers, agents and third party advisors. If ou happen to speak a second language (Spanish or German preferable) then that will be viewed as highly advantageous based on the nature of the work and the current portfolio of borrowers across Europe.

To be considered for the role, you must be a graduate with a 2:1 qualification and have good analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills plus have the ability to take a commercial approach to each investment under management.

Those with a restructuring, insolvency and/or finance background will be strongly considered as will those who have worked in an investments and/or real estate enviornment. No specific qualifications are required, it is much more about the skill sets and how best they can be transferred in. You must have at least 2-3 years hands-on professional working experience.
